Crazy Boules is a creative variation of traditional ‘jeu de boules’.
It is played with soft, colorful balls. We call them Crazy Boules because they don’t always behave as expected! Due to their irregular shape, they don’t roll straight but bounce unpredictably. Unlike classic jeu de boules, where the goal is always the same (throwing closest to the small ball), here you complete a series of fun and surprising challenges in unique setups. The game integrates urban elements into the objectives, such as a bench in a park, a small bridge or a monument’s staircase

Armed with a set of Crazy Boules balls and accessories, you’ll embark on an urban adventure. The route is available in our handy app. At each location, you’ll receive a fun fact about the city and an explanation of the challenge. You and your team will set up the task yourselves, including the throwing line and target, and find out what the objective is and how many points can be scored. You’ll keep track of your scores and rankings on a vintage scorecard, and at the end of the game, the winner will be revealed.
How do you play it?
Each player throws two Crazy Boules of their chosen color toward a specific target to score points. The target can be a four-colored ball (the Jack Boule), a designated zone or another object, such as a statue or fountain. The challenge of each round defines the target and setup, which players must create together before throwing. The scoring system also varies per challenge, ensuring dynamic gameplay where players must calculate and track their points carefully.
The different tasks are played in successive rounds. You complete the tasks at various locations, for example, in a city, following a set route. The locations where you play the different rounds are available on a route in an app.
A city walk with a twist
The Crazy Boules Urban Challenge combines a city walk with a fun game of “urban petanque.” The goal is to explore the city in a playful way while enjoying unique and entertaining boules challenges.

We always divide participants into smaller teams of 4 to 8 players to start the playful competition. Sometimes, you’ll also compete as teams, making each round a new surprise for your group outing.
